As we mentioned in our last post we have been invited to Venice by Swatch to visit Venice’s Bienal. Swatch is happy to celebrate their 30th anniversary by collaborating with Bienal through SWATCH_Faces. The Swatch Art Peace Hotel located in a remarkable building in Shanghai’s Bund hosts international contemporary artists in many of its apartments. The artists are given all the necessary tools to work on their masterpiece. It’s a fantastic initiative which supports emerging artists.
The Swatch stand at Venice’s Bienal was responsible for telling us some of these stories and showing us their collaboration with José Carlos Casado: OFF a watch that gives you 5 seconds to think about something different.
After finding out a lot about Swatch close links to the art world, we visited some of the other stands from countries across the world because the stands themselves are a work of art. The Bienal algo gives you the chance to visit other exhibitions spread across the city, the perfect excuse to get lost in Venice’s streets.
